BARETO: PA LOS AHORA FANS DE LA CUMBIA

Hace unos meses atrás publicamos una rolita de Bareto. Acá volvemos con otro post, en esta ocasión un par de videos de esta banda del Perú, uno de ellos de su gira por el Gabo en Julio pasado, en donde pusieron a bailotear a la raza con sus ritmos sabrosones incluyendo su chicha poderosa (cumbia del Perú). Dedicado a todos aquellos que ahora son fans de la cumbia que está tan de moda estos días, pa que conozcan otro tipo de cumbia.

Some time ago we posted a song from Bareto. Here's another post, these are a couple of videos the Peruvian band, one of them touring the US back in July where they made the crowd dance with their delicious riddims inlcuding some powerful chicha (Peru's cumbia). Dedicated to those who now are a cumbia fans cause cumbia is so in these days, so you can get familiar with a different type of cumbia.

En uno de mis viajes de Harlem a Dumbo hice la parada obligada en Halcyon, no tenia la intencion de comprar nada ya que sigo en modo de receción pero no pude dejar de notar un 45 amarillo que decia "SETENTA, latin soul band from paris", suficiente para despertar mi curiosidad por lo que decidi darle una probada y mas tarde en ponerme los audifinos que en quitarmelos y correr a la caja a comprarlo, Puro Funky Cha Cha Cha!!!

On one of my trips from Harlem to Dumbo i did the obligated stop at Halcyon, i wasn't expecting to buy anything since i'm still on recession mode but then this yellow 45 called my attention, "SETENTA, latin soul band from paris", enough to make me curious so i decide to hear a sample of it and it took me more time to put the headphones on than to take them off and run to the cashier to buy it. Pure Funky Cha Cha Cha!!!

Esto es lo que verán en el nuevo website de nuestra amiga la artista Vanessa Lodigiani, temas en donde se manifiestan la falta de tolerancia, la desigualdad , la diversidad cultural y en general el comportamiento humano visto a travás de una óptica crítica y a la vez irónica. Una serie de pinturas y performances que forman parte de este "lenguage estético contemporaneo" como ella misma lo llama. Vanessa Lodigiani es una artista Mexicana que radica en Nueva York actualmente. Dense un quemón con su trabajo!

"My work addresses themes such as gender, the body seen as a temporary vessel, world division, distribution of wealth, contrast, identity, sexuality and power." An this is what you are going to see in Vanessa Lodigiani's website, themes where the lack of tolarence, inequality, cultural diversity and human behavior in general invade with their presence and are seen through a critic and an ironic optic at the same time. A series of paints and performances that conform this "contemporary aesthetic language" as she calls it. Vanessa Lodigiani is a Mexican artist currently living in New York. Check her work out!
