Erykah Badu

Are you on the Erykah Badu Funk train? While you have probably heard or seen, "Window Seat" and the Matt and Kim's "Lessons Learned," I still though it deserves a post. Recently, I was watching Lady Gaga's video "Telephone" featuring Beyonce, which has a lot of partial nudity. And when I juxtaposed "Telephone" with "Window Seat," I saw in "Window Seat" something very essential, a truth of the self. That truth feels tangible and freeing-as we can all strip down and walk the streets naked or find some way to rid ourselves of demons. And as Badu explains, "'Window Seat is about liberating yourself from layers and layers of skin or demons that are a hindrance to your growth or freedom, or evolution."
