One of my favorite painters and movies to date is, "Alice Neel" Check out the films website(www.aliceneelfilm.com) for screenings and images of her work. Besides being a great painter, Neel represented Harlem.(Just like L.F.D) She left the popluar Greenwich Village scene in 1938 for Spanish Harlem where she painted her neighbor's.
